Vancouver racer takes NASCAR win | People

LONG POND, Pa. - It's about time. That's what Greg Biffle - who hails from Vancouver, Wash. - must have been thinking as he finally took the checkered flag Sunday.
The local NASCAR driver took the checkered flag in Sunday's Sprint Cup race at the Pocono raceway. This is his first Sprint Cup victory in two years and 65 races. It also was Ford’s first Sprint Cup win this season.
Late in the race, Biffle took the lead on a re-start. Once he got out front he was gone, building a lead of more than 5 seconds before taking the checkered flag. With 13 laps to go, Biffle "had a huge lead," said KATU Sportscaster Craig Birnbach Sunday as he watched the race live.
Biffle's victory however could have been marred by an awful crash: Driver Elliot Sadler had a direct hit, slamming into the sidewall head first. However, since modern race cars are made with all of the latest safety features, Sadler walked away with just a little bit of soreness.
